Sacrificial - these systems of the other hand can be installed and remain effective for a long term but once the graffiti is cleaned from a specific area, that area alone will need to be recoated as the protection has been sacrificed in the graffiti removal process. These systems are generally used where the aesthetics take priority over the serviceability as maintenance typically involves both graffiti removal and replacement of the sacrificial system for the affected area.

Product types include both impregnation style pore blocking penetrative sealers of high quality with long lifetime protection and lesser quality acrylic film forming protective coatings.
